Rothko

Rothko is an interactive website I developed that transforms historical climate data into digital paintings. Using annual surface temperature change data from 1961 to 2022, users can select a year and one of 225 countries to generate a unique, abstract composition. The colors are directly influenced by the temperature change:
– Warm years result in warm tones (reds, oranges, yellows)
– Cool years produce cooler hues (blues, purples)

This project is a personal expression of my commitment to climate awareness and my passion for art. By turning raw data into something visual and emotional, I hope to offer a new way of engaging with the climate crisis.
