TOPOS GRAPHEIN

Maps allow to delineate places but what are their limits ? And in what ways, can it shows natural elements in volumes like the topographic maps indicate mountains ?

I explored these questions in this VJing and Mapping project. The visuals play around the idea of flat surfaces transforming into volumes and the other way around.

The notions of scale and points of view are essential in this project. Some images are abstract and some more figurative, allowing the viewer to have a personnal interpretation of this itinerary.

With my friend, sound producer Benjamin Cherix, we played and recorded an exclusive 6:32’ track, interacting with the visuals and creating an atmosphere reminding the echoes in the mountains.

The initial projection was meant to be displayed in a completly black bathroom in the basement of the school to create a cave-like atmosphere. (It did not happened because of the school going back to online classes.)
